Based on the actual available evidence, there is no ancient Egyptian word for slave, but European/Western scholars continue to cast backwards into history the false biblical narratives about “Semitic” slaves in ancient Egypt, in a massive case of cultural projection!
WIKIPEDIA The term Semitic in a racial sense was coined by members of the Göttingen School of History in the early 1770s. Other members of the Göttingen School of History coined the separate term Caucasian in the 1780s. These terms were used and developed by numerous other scholars over the next century.
FACTS VS FICTION The claim that “Semitic” slaves existed in ancient Egypt before 500 BCE is based on a historical anachronism and a linguistic fallacy. The term “Semitic” was first coined by German scholars in the 18th century CE to classify a group of related languages within the Afro-Asiatic family. It has no basis in the self-identification or ethnography of the ancient peoples who spoke those languages. Moreover, the word “slave” is inappropriate to describe the status of workers in ancient Egypt, as there was no equivalent term or concept in the Egyptian language. The workers who built the pyramids, for example, were not slaves but paid laborers who enjoyed certain rights and privileges.
The biblical narrative of the Exodus, which is often cited as evidence for the existence of “Semitic” slaves in Egypt, is not supported by any archaeological or historical sources. The identity and origin of the Israelites, who are portrayed as descendants of Abraham and his son Isaac, are uncertain and debated among scholars. Some suggest that they emerged from a group of Canaanites who migrated to the hill country of Palestine around 1200 BCE. …
