Origins in Egypt Christianity did not emerge in isolation but was built from older Egyptian mythic materials.
Recast Myth The figure of Jesus is seen as the product of a long process of reinterpretation in which the qualities of Heru/Horus, Osiris, and related Nile Valley deities were recast into a new theological form that could serve a different imperial and ecclesiastical agenda.
Institutional Transformation In this view, the church did not simply borrow a few symbols from Egypt; it transformed an entire mythic system into a new religious narrative. What had once been sacred mystery language in Egypt was later treated as literal history by Christian authorities, so mythic figures and rites were reissued as facts about a new savior figure. The result was a Jesus story assembled from older African religious thought while presenting itself as something new.
Horus Parallels This reading especially emphasizes parallels between Heru to Jesus, such as divine sonship, miraculous birth, struggle against darkness, death, and resurrection. Those parallels are taken as evidence that the Jesus narrative was a later recoding of Egyptian sacred drama rather than a wholly original revelation. Christian iconography and titles are therefore understood as preserving the structure of the older myth while changing the names and cultural setting.
Heru as Prototype Within that framework, Heru/Horus becomes central because he is treated as one of the main prototypes behind the Christian son-of-god figure.
